Vintage 9ct Gold Pocket Watch Chain Swivel Fob 1978 Large Victorian Style Fob

  

Vintage Gentleman's 9ct gold (fully hallmarked) and agate stone set Victorian style highly ornate large pocket watch chain swivel fob. Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. (Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was extremely difficult to photograph). Measures; 3.7 cm height (including the top ring), 2.8cm width and weighs a very respectable 9.6 grams.

Highly detailed large Victorian style fob which is beautifully adorned to both sides with a highly ornate open wire work scrolled decoration. Clearly hallmarked to one side of the bail within different shaped, recessed cartouches with the gold purity; 375 (9ct), anchor (Birmingham assay) and capital scrolled letter; D - dating it to 1978.

Wonderful half moon shaped mount which is holding securely in a wide swivel'pie crust' setting a cabachon cut beautiful banded'lace' agate stone to one side (has fabulous natural inclusions of blue, lavender, ivory and brown) and a deep damson coloured (nearly black) cabachon cut agate stone to the other side (they could be glass, but suspect not), both of which are in super condition with no chips, scratches or'flea nibbles'. Robust top ring (not hallmarked so probably gold filled) to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with absolutely no wear or damage and just few extremely light little (micro) surface scratches (showing under eyeglass only) commensurate with age. Will arrive in a new velvet presentation pouch and be very securely and safely packed.
