Victorian Pocket Watch Chain Lorgnettes 1880s 12ct Gold Filled Magnifying Fob

  
Victorian French 12ct rose gold filled (have a lovely soft pink hue and are known in the UK as rolled gold) large Antique lorgnettes magnifying glasses fob for carrying on a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. C1880's (could certainly be earlier). Useful item when you are out and about. Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. Measure; 10.5cm / 4 1/8 height, 3.6cm glass diameter and weighs a very respectable 20.9 grams.

Beautifully adorned with an attractive engine turned geometric design to both sides of the handle and scroll work decoration to the bridge which is stamped to the underside with the makers name; DOUBLE. Original bevel edge glass lenses which have great magnification and spring open correctly when the little lever on the handle is pushed up.

Excellent clean and bright condition with a tiny bit of overall wear / patina (showing under eyeglass only), tiny bend to the end ring (does not detract in any way but mentioning for accuracy) and few very light and fine little surface scratches to the glass lenses commensurate with age.
