Victorian 1870s Pocket Watch Chain Compass Fob Large Antique Brass Working Fob

  

Victorian Gentleman's very large and highly impressive ornate solid brass working compass pocket watch chain Antique swivel fob. Similar to the fob I have supplied to'Pinewood Studios'. (Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was very difficult to photograph). Measures; 4.4cm height (including the top ring), 2.7cm width, 7mm depth and weighs a heavy 11.5 grams.

Wonderful big half moon mount with an engine turned star and dot work design to centre and fabulous large scrolled open wire work love hearts to each side. The working swivel compass is held securely in a robust wide'drum' case and has a clear dial (to be viewed from both sides) with a gold chapter ring showing the directional markers in alternating red and black with a bright blued steel needle pointer which operates correctly. Original thick bevel edge glass (not acrylic) to both sides both of which are in excellent order with no scratches or marks. Large brass top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain.

Excellent clean and bright condition with no wear, just one extremely tiny (micro) little'flea nibble' to the bevel edge of one of the glasses (showing under eyeglass only and is so small not visible in the photographs but mentioning for accuracy) and very light overall patina (again showing under eyeglass only) commensurate with age. Will arrive in a new velvet presentation pouch and be securely and safely packed.
