The Hamilton 992 is the classic railroad watch and remains a statement in functionality and style from the early decades of the twentieth century. Presented for your consideration is a 1925 Hamilton 992 pocket watch from Lancaster, Pennsylvania USA. This open face watch has the classic style of a railroad watch housed in a 10 K gold filled case. All the style and functionality remain in this beautifully presented watch. It is size 16, contains 21 jewels and is adjusted to 5 positions, temperature and isochronism making it compliant to the requirements of a railroad grade watch. The glass crystal is free of scratches and chips with only slight surface wear. The white double-sunk dial is of the true Montgomery style with the 6 housed within the subsidiary seconds dial.
The dial is free of cracks and hairlines. The railroad style dial is flawless with bold Arabic numerals within tick marks and black minute numerals at the edge of the hour dial. Lightly faded red numerals designate the five-minute positions. The spade hour and minute hands are nicely blue as is the modern seconds hand. The 10-k gold filled Keystone J.
