Georgian Gentleman's large brass'John Bull' Antique pocket watch chain brass key swivel fob. ('John Bull' was an imaginary figure created in a series of political satires by John Arbuthnot in the 18th century which depicted tales of a prosperous farmer known as "an honest plain speaking fellow, choleric, bold and of very inconstant temper"). Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was a very difficult chap to photograph.

Measures; 5cm height (including the top ring), 1.5cm width and weighs a heavy 11.1 grams. Highly detailed fob showing the jovial bulbous face of'John Bull' with bald head, prominent ears and little curly wig to either side. Brass key shaft with square end (no splits or damage) - size unknown.

Robust wide swivel bail with little finial to top and large brass top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with no wear or damage and just a few light surface scratches to the back of Johns head commensurate with age (imagine this has been suspended from a watch chain for well over 200 years).
