Diameter 56 mm, weight 207 g, circa 1888, length of chain, 26cm. Philibert Jeanbourquin was a pupil of the watchmaking school in La Chaux de Fonds around 1888.
The name Jeanbourquin reappears in La Chaux de Fonds in 1933, when a company Marcel Jeanbourquin & Cie. Is founded, which still exists in 1986 under the name Lucien Jeanbourquin and one could well imagine that Marcel and Lucien were descendants - e. Son and grandson - of our Philibert. Judging by the incredible attention to detail and the finely crafted individual parts of this watch, it is a very fine journeyman piece of a very capable watchmaker. Sehr schön / very nice.
